Reports coming in from an interview with Zidane states that Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane has stepped down as the manager of Real Madrid. The French international stepped down as manager after winning his 3rd successive UCL trophy just last Saturday in Kyiv. The Algerian born took charge in January 2016 from Rafael Benitez.
But with such a glorious foot, the ace footballer had a number of stars who helped him achieve such massive feet. With Ronaldo been the prime of his success.
After taking over in January 2016, the ex-Manchester United player enjoyed a lot of success under the regime of Zidane. He won the Ballon D’or in the 2016, 2017 consecutively and many other personal achievements.
In the 2015-2016 season where Zidane joined the team, he scored more than 50 goals for the 6th consecutive season. As a result, he won the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award for a second time. He also finished the season in the UCL with 16 goals and that was the fourth time he achieved that feet.
In the 2016-2017 season he missed the first three matches due to injuries which he picked during his service to Portugal where he won the Euros. After missing the first three matches of the season, he ended the season a high. He won the Ballon d’Or for a fourth time and the inaugural Best FIFA Men’s Player, which is a rebranded form of the old FIFA World Player of the Year. In the same season, he tied his career to Los Blancos till 2021 with a buyout clause of one billion Euros. He crowned the season with another Ballon D’Or and the fifth of it.
His last season under Zidane saw more accolades added to his illustrious career. He won his 5th UEFA Champions League where he couldn’t score unlike he did in the last two finals where he scored in all.
His time under Zidane has been one of his best seasons ever where it was marked with individual accolades and team titles after another. Under Zizou, he won 9 trophies in all.
