Fellow Ghains!, Both at home and in the diaspora are you ready for the biggest music and cultural event ever ? Ghanafest Toronto is here for all of us to celeberate our root and send a string message to the whole world.
The goal of Ghanafest is to bring Canada’s multicultural community together in showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the Ghanaian community.
This will include traditional food, cultural performers, performance from local artists within the GTA, and other showcases. The average attendance over the past 7 years has increased from 1000-1500 people & promises to be bigger this year around with lots of anticipation from the community because this year has been dubbed as the Year of Return whereby Ghana has been selected as the destination spot for the global community to celebrate 400 years in the abolishment of slavery.
This year headliners will include world renowned DJ Mensah coming from Ghana, to celebrate the occasion with us. Other performing acts coming from Ghana, U.S., & U.K. will include Kuami Eugene, Epixode, Rashid Metal, Kofi Kinaata, Gasmilla, Amakye Dede and many more. There will also be a significant assembly of royal chiefs/queens displaying the cultural durbar of the Kings/Queens augmented in their beautiful colorful regalia.
The excitement and anticipation towards the event creates a platform for businesses to thrive whist interacting with the attendees. This prestigious event presents an opportunity for your company to advertise directly to the Canadian multicultural community. The event aims to incorporate live entertainment, guest performers, community leaders, business exhibition, and a cultural expo/culinary showcase that are geared to entice a broad-spectrum target market consisting of families, entrepreneurs, and business professionals.
Partners and sponsors are warmly welcome on board as the marketing strategy shall be aided with advertisements on Toronto’s main urban radio stations (Vibe 105.5fm, CIUT 89.5fm, G98.7fm), distribution of 10,000 flyers, 200 posters, TV interviews (Feva TV & AfroGlobal TV), social media campaign strategy (facebook, instagram, twitter), promotions on www.ghanafest.ca, 5,000 + mass emails, voicemail invitations, and regular mail invites. We will also advertise through our media partners (i.e. local Canadian community newspapers & magazines such as Ghanaian news, etc.) as well as coordinate our marketing committee of 50 volunteers who will help advertise effectively all over the country.
